Mygrantour - Intercultural Urban Routes

There are worlds in Mouraria

Mouraria is the most multicultural district in Lisbon. People, music, voices and flavours from across the world share a common space here and shape the quarter's cosmopolitan everyday life. Everything can be found here: from Africa groceries and Chinese tea, to good luck charms and electronic devices, hidden mosques, evangelical and catholic churches and lively cultural organizations. An endless exploration - right at the heart of Lisbon.

We would like to invite you to participate in a tour to Mouraria guided by migrants who tell us, in the first person, about their culture and the cultures of those who inhabit this area.

This visits are the result of a project promoted by the Association Renovar Mouraria, co-funded by the European Union, which is being implemented in 8 different European cities, besides Lisbon: Florence, Genoa, Marseille, Milan, Paris, Rome, Turin and Valencia. The objective is to support the integration of migrant citizens into the nine participating cities, building mutual comprehension and intercultural respect.
